the show was originally going to be called "Insomnia Café"

Gunther's character was originally set to appear once, having no lines. But since he was the only one who knew how to work a coffee machine, they put him as a recurring character.

I didn't know this one! I'm glad he could work a coffee machine irl lol, I love Gunther.

The golden frame around the peephole was originally a mirror which one of the crew accidentally smashed. But because it still looked good they decided to leave it there.

Everyone knows that Chandler and Phoebe were not meant to be "leading" characters in the show when they started it. I just can't imagine something like that!

Monica was to be played originally by Jen Aniston, but after the first read the producers decided to give her Rachel instead.

And Matt LeBlanc auditioned for Rachel but the producers thought "no, too much penis".

The "flashback" episodes in seasons 4, 6 and 8 where mainly thought to new watchers of the show who might had missed earlier seasons.

Courtney Cox was the only one from the main cast who hasn't been nominated for Emmy (which is terribly unfair, I think).

I agree, that always made me really sad. Courteney played Monica amazingly well. I love how she always puts the right tones in every line. When she says "I KNOW!" it's so perfect that no one can really imitate it. Courteney really deserved an Emmy or at the very least a nomination.

And she is so funny and perfect in Cougar Town too! I don't understand...

It WAS unfair!! She was actually one of the best actresses! Not that I am saying some were bad, but she was amazing!

Matt LeBlanc has recently said in the Golden Globe Awards jornalists Q&A that he'd like to see a Friends movie but he thinks it wouldn't work for the show, because it would be weird not to have the laughs at the end of every joke.
