| Sure, and I was always sorry for her! However, all the jokes about it were hilarious! And actually, that somehow turned out to be a good thing when she got the porche! | |

| Definitely. She didn't have a fair childhood. :( | |

| Yeah, Monica was certainly the child her mom wanted to hide in the closet and neglect. If it wasn't for her eating, I'm sure her Mom would have completely forgotten about her.
It is perfectly reasonable that Monica's weight problems were a result of her Mom's lack of attention and support.

| But also, I think is so great that she turned out to be a "the best child" sort of way, after she grew. For example, she got thin and beautiful, got married with the man of her life and became a great professional and an independent woman. Ross got three divorces, a lesbian wife, two babies from different women and was fired because of his temper. Not saying all of those things are wrong or something not to do, but, you know what I mean.
IN YOUR FACE, JUDY! | |

| I kinda think it goes to show how out of touch Judy really was with the lives of her children. Ross could be forgiven for anything, but Monica could do nothing right. It made me sad that Monica tried so hard (too hard in fact) to make her Mom especially have an emotional response at their 35th (?) wedding anniversary. I do think that in the end, Monica got the better end of the deal compared to Ross. | |

I couldn't have said it any better. Judy was terrible to Monica, everytime I watch the episode where Monica caters for her, it makes me so upset when Judy knew Monica would "pull a Monica"

| Ugh, that episode makes me rage SO MUCH! The thing I noticed is that we never see Monica, "pull a Monica". In fact, Ross "pulls more Monica's" in the series than Monica does! | |

| God, her mother infuriated me. At Ross's wedding, she was saying how "it may be the only wedding they ever get to throw". So unfair. | |

| And on the other hand, even though Jack was also kinda unfair with Mon, he's a lot funnier and likable than Judy. | |

| Yeah, Jack was as unfair with Monica as the Mom was; but I think it was more because he was a pushover more than he was malicious. *shrugs* I really can't stand either of them, but Jack is a little more tolerable IMO. | |

| Oh for sure, i always felt so sad for her. The worst time was when Judy called Ross when Chandler had posted the announcement on their college website that Ross had died in "TOW The Memorial Service". And she said to Ross on the phone at the end that she would have been childless if he had died, and Ross had to remind her of still having Monica. Poor thing! But Jack is nicer yes, allthough he also has his faults. But remember that scene where he comes to visit Monica in 3x01 after her break up with Richard, to see how she's doing and comfort/hug her? I thought that was a sweet moment between them, and Judy would never do that. | |

Yes, I like that scene very much. And all the scenes (which aren't many) where Judy tries to "make up" to Monica aren't sweet or anything. It just makes me hate her even more.

| Ugh, Judy. Her little jabs at Monica, both the intentional (too many to even name) and unintentional (e.g. in TOW The Memorial Service) break my heart. Jack is only slightly better, but I don't think he ever intended to make Monica feel bad, he's just the type of guy to speak before he thinks. You could tell he loves her, like where he visits her after the Richard breakup in the episode LittleHarmonica mentioned. | |

| What about the episode from season 8, The One in Massapequa! Poor Monica, I feel so bad for her trying so hard to make the speech! Also it's hilarious at the same time, the way she keeps talking about the dead dog!!! That's what Judy did to her! | |

| Haha poor Monica!!! That is one of the best episodes of season 8. But I still think Parker steals the episode, he's so funny. Ok, off-topic :P | |

| I don't say they don't love her, but yeah, they do love Ross more. :( And that's was unfair because she seemed to be a very good daugther. =/ | |

| I find Judy extremely mean; they mostly made her that way for the humor's sake though; but if it wasn't for the humor, I'd hate her guts. This way she was just a funny character who just likes to neglect her little daughter.
I guess she was nagging all the time only because her mom used to do that to her. That can't justify how she treated Monica, of course. I want to believe she wanted the best for Monica - that's why she NEVER stopped nagging, but it's hard taken that that is what she did all the time and sometimes she'd even forget that she gave birth to her. Those moments were not so funny.

| Definitely. It was completely unfair and Monica did nothing to deserve it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't find some of the jokes to come out of it hilarious though. And that scene where her dad came to see her after the break up was super adorable. | |

| Yeah, yesterday I saw one particular episode where I do think Judy was just awful. It's actually the only episode where I thought she was not funny, only mean. When she hires Monica to make some dinner for her and her party or whatever, and she had the lasagnas on the freezer. And the worst part for me was that she was actually enjoying it. I mean, she bet with Jack that Monica was going to screw something up! And when Monica told her about the fingernail on the food, she just laughed! :S
By the way, I do not think that Jack loved Monica less, only Judy. Jack seemed to have more faith in Monica than Judy. I think that Jack only wasn't aware that Monica felt that way (he didn't seem to be the perceptive kinda person).

| Totally agree. Jack was more worried about having fun and living a good, calm life. He love both of his children and I have never had the feeling he treated Moncia like Judy did. | |

| Sure, I actually never thought of that before. If you think, there are lots of cute dad-daughter scenes with Jack and Monica. And so few/none with Judy and her. | |
