Why all the hate?

I don't get why I see so many people who says they don't like Rachel. She is as awesome as all the other characthers. I love her very much and I just don't get it.
I saw at one Tumblr-blog I follow (friendsconfesions) and there are a considerable number of people that don't like her. So I want to hear what you guys think. :D

I guess people always remember more of the spoiled Rachel than the amazing developed woman she became, which is a shame.

Yeah, that's true.
I also saw people saying that Rachel is an awfull mother. :S I don't see it... She became so much more mature after she had Emma, I think she a really hard worker when it comes to Emma.

She was a caring mother. Sure, she might have neglected Emma at some point, but I honestly don't remember. On the top of my mind, I remember her concern in living Emma alone, she being proud of hearing Emma's first words and when she was pregnant, worrying she would be a terrible mother. I think Rachel has always been one of the most real characters in the whole series. I like her a lot! I confess she is on my "people who inspire me" on Facebook

I think people might hate the OLD Rachel. The NEW Rachel was wonderful! She grew as a person; she made it on her own; she became a mother so quickly, and in a great way! I love what Rachel became!

What they said. She was spoiled, not ready to live a real life, and somehow, in spite of that, she made it on her own and she developed so much. You don't see the other 6 changing as much as she did. And even if they did, it wasn't a good change, unlike hers.

Whoever "hates" or dislikes any of the 6 obviously didn't watch the whole show or something. They all had their bad or even horrible moments, but if you've seen all 10 seasons you realize they're all genuine and true to themselves and others and you see how GOOD they are.

I digress way too much. XD

I agree. How can you NOT like any of them? I don't think you can cosider yourself that much of a fan if you actually don't like one of the main six...

And also, judging Rachel for being spoiled at some point in her life would be wrong: she was from a rich family (or whatever...), that has poiled her and gave her and her sisters all they wanted without any effort or work. It's actually a matter of how she was raised and everything. However, if she had always been only a spoiled daddy's girl all the time she probably would have never been friends with Monica when they were younger. I guess Rach learned a lot from her mistakes and chose to be a whole lot better person than she ever was. She kept some of her "shallow" characteristics when she grew older, but c'mon, don't we all?

True! I love the episode where her mother tries to want to be more like her. I would be flattered if my parents did that.

And that was actually a sign of how much her mom was proud of her, and this was only season 2! Rachel has always inspired me (job-wise) out of them 6, so all this hate is irrelevant, I mean, people tend to focus on her faults and totally forget how strong she is!

I guess you are right, Andy.
All of them inspire me in some way... But Rachel is a great role model! She fought for absolutely everything in her adult life. She never got anything without hard work: respect, her money, her daugther, her dream job, even Ross!

Yeah right!

And then I wonder how her life would have been by the end of season 10 if she had married Barry... =/
